Carbon fiber is one of the most durable materials used in motorsport — but it does need a minimum of care to keep it looking and performing its best. This guide covers everything you need to know about cleaning, protecting and maintaining your CS Compositi carbon parts for years of use.
Routine Cleaning
After every ride, rinse carbon parts with clean water to remove mud and grit. Use a soft microfibre cloth — never a scouring pad or stiff brush — and a pH-neutral motorcycle wash. Avoid high-pressure jet washing directly onto carbon surfaces, particularly at joins and edges, as sustained high pressure can force water under the clear coat.
Protecting the Finish
CS Compositi parts are finished with a UV-resistant clear coat that protects the carbon weave from oxidation and UV degradation. To extend the life of this finish, apply a quality wax or ceramic spray coating two to three times per year. This is especially important if the bike is stored outdoors or ridden in high-UV environments.
Dealing with Scratches
Light surface scuffs on the clear coat — from boot contact or branch strikes — can be polished out with a fine automotive cutting compound applied by hand with a microfibre cloth. Deep scratches that penetrate the clear coat to the weave should be sealed promptly with a clear lacquer pen to prevent moisture ingress.
Repairing Minor Damage
Small cracks in carbon parts can be repaired with a two-part epoxy carbon repair kit available from most motorsport suppliers. The repair process involves cleaning the damaged area, applying epoxy resin, and finishing with a clear coat. Storage
If you remove carbon parts from the bike for the off-season, store them flat or hanging — never stacked under weight. Keep them out of direct sunlight during long storage periods. A UV-protective storage bag adds an extra layer of protection.

- Abrasive cleaning products
- Sustained high-pressure washing at close range
- Stacking parts under heavy objects
